You have to wonder when reporters will get educated. I am glad though that this is another article where an “assault rifle” was used in self defense.

The Stephens County sheriff says a resident shot and killed one of four people who forced their way into a home in Martin. Deputies are looking for the other three invaders.
Sheriff Randy Shirley said the home invasion occurred about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
“Four subjects, armed with handguns and long guns, forced their way into a residence located at 696 Waters Edge Drive in Martin,” Shirley said. “During the incident, one of the occupants of the home was able to retrieve an assault rifle that he kept at the residence and subsequently shot one of the intruders.”
The man who was shot was dead when a deputy arrived. The dead man has been identified as Demetrice Faust, 34, of Oglethorpe County, Ga.
The sheriff said the three others fled.
The sheriff said his office is working with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on the case.
